Insurance Companies and their terms…

Sometimes it might feel like insurance companies just try to make it confusing to get the benefits out of your insurance.  If you’re like many of our clients, you don’t know the first thing about the process to restore your motorcycle after a collision.  That’s ok!  Because we are here to help you do just that and walk you through the process every step of the way.

Totalling a car is a really important concept that insurance companies use to determine if it’s worth repairing your bike or not. Not every car or motorcycle is worth saving (financially speaking). Sometimes the damages are just too great to repair. That’s where the concept of “totaling” comes in.

Insurance Claim Assistance for Motorcycle Collision Repairs

American Auto Body and Collision in Tulsa is here to help you understand all the complexities that come with wrecking and repairing your car or bike. Insurance companies can be hard to understand and work with sometimes. That’s why we are here with claim assistance which helps you understand the ins-and-outs of what’s happening with your bike throughout the whole process. For more information call us at 918-323-4909 or email us at info@americanabac.com.

What does it mean to “Total” your car?

When you total a vehicle you exceed the ratio of actual cash value to repair costs. See when you have a car accident, the damages to your car obviously cost money to fix. The insurance company wants to know if it’s worth the time, energy and effort it takes to repair your existing car or motorcycle.

They calculate this based upon the actual cash value (or how much your car is really worth today) against the total repair cost. They calculate these values by a complex formula comprising many factors including mileage, age of your car, the market, etc.

When the total repair costs reach or exceed 75% of the total value of your vehicle, the insurance company is going to “total” your car. They will count it as a “total lossed cause”.

American Auto Body and Collision will work OUTSIDE your insurance

We here at American Auto Body and Collision know that totalling your bike isn’t always the best solution for you as a customer. Especially when it comes to motorcycle collision repairs here in Tulsa because sometimes it’s worth saving the bike to you.

We can help you. We are willing to work outside of your insurance claim to give you the service you deserve and avoid totaling the bike. That means we will work to get your bike repaired if possible.
